What Are DTF Transfers & Gang Sheets?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are full colour prints produced on a specialist film and heat pressed onto garments. They deliver vibrant colour, sharp detail and excellent durability across a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester and blends.

A DTF gang sheet is a large sheet containing multiple designs laid out together, helping you maximise space and reduce cost per print. Simply upload your artwork, gang it how you like, and press when it arrives.

DTF transfers are ideal for brands, printers and workwear suppliers looking for a fast, flexible and reliable printing solution without setup costs or colour limitations.

How to Press DTF transfers

Our DTF transfers arrive ready to press. No extra adhesive required.

Trim your design as needed, position it on the garment, and apply using a heat press.

Cotton Garments (100% Cotton)
  1. Preheat the garment for 10 seconds to remove moisture. Allow to cool.
  2. Place the transfer white side down, with the image facing up.
  3. Press at 150°C for 10 seconds using very firm pressure.
  4. Remove from the press and allow the garment to cool until warm.
  5. Peel the film warm or cold.
  6. Cover the design with parchment or Teflon and repress for 10 seconds to seal.
Polyester & Poly/Cotton Blends
  1. Preheat the garment for 10 seconds to remove moisture. Allow to cool.
  2. Place the transfer white side down, with the image facing up.
  3. Press at 120°C for 15 seconds using very firm pressure.
  4. Remove from the press and allow the garment to cool until warm.
  5. Peel the film warm or cold.
  6. Cover the design with parchment or Teflon and repress for 10 seconds to seal.
Top tip:

If the film does not release cleanly, place it back under the press with the film in position, repress, allow to cool slightly, and peel again.

FAQs

All orders placed before 12noon (Monday to Friday) will be printed the same day and dispatched for next working day delivery.

All orders received over weekends and bank holidays will be printed the next working day and dispatched accordingly.

Please note that for orders 50m it may not be possible to dispatch same day, however we will notify you when your order has been recieved. If you're looking to place a large order, please speak to our customer service team first to confirm turnaround time.

To achieve maximum print quality, artwork must be supplied as:

  • High-resolution CMYK, PNG, EPS or PDF files
  • Ganged up on a 540mm x 1000mm per sheet
  • Outlined fonts and links embedded

We recommend a transparent artboard for artwork.

You do not need to mirror your artwork, we will take care of this prior to printing.
